STATS Fantasy Football Projections Ranked No. 1 by FantasyPros for Third Consecutive Season

January 3, 2018

CHICAGO– January 3, 2018 – STATS, the worldwide leader in sports data and intelligence, has been named FantasyPros’ 2017 Most Accurate Fantasy Football Experts, receiving the recognition for the third consecutive year.

STATS projections for the NFL were ranked highest for the past three seasons—a feat not yet achieved in the history of the contest—as well as placing second in the 2014 accuracy standings. STATS has been the overall leader for the last six years combined.

In addition to ranking tops for football, STATS was also ranked by FantasyPros to have the most accurate fantasy baseball projections for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons. STATS has previously been recognized at the FSTA’s annual winter conference, winning awards for the accuracy of its football and baseball projections in a head-to-head competition among more than 100 industry leaders.

“At STATS, we are constantly improving our process and predictive models to produce the highest velocity and accuracy for our fantasy projections and data, taking into account all scenarios that could change the makeup of a team and player’s performance,” said Sean Koerner, Director of Predictive Analytics at STATS. “Winning for the third consecutive season is a real honor and validates all of the hard work we put in each season to improve our algorithms to create the most accurate fantasy projections in the world.”

This year, STATS received first-place honors by a wide margin, as the accuracy gap between first and second place was even larger than the gap between second and 24th place. STATS predictions managed to finish No. 1 out of 111 experts at grading wide receivers, No. 2 for quarterbacks and No. 9 for running backs, with defense/special teams also receiving a No. 1 ranking, despite not being counted in the overall rankings.

“Our goal is to promote the best fantasy sites and experts by giving them a level playing field that objectively answers the question: How good is your advice?” said David Kim, co-founder of FantasyPros. “The average fantasy football player is inundated with a never-ending supply of unfiltered information and advice. FantasyPros rates this information so players can get the advice they want from the pros they trust.”
