Sky Sports emerge victorious at the 2026 OptaJoe Quiz
Some of the leading organisations across the UK sports media came together in London to take part in OptaJoe's annual test of football knowledge.

The ultimate test of football trivia
Records. Firsts. Milestones.
During the past decade the OptaJoe quiz has built a reputation for testing the knowledge of even the most die-hard of football obsessives, featuring over 70 obscure questions sourced from Opta’s extensive archive of football data.
This year’s edition celebrated 30 years of Opta, including rounds dedicated to Euro 96 and the 1996-97 Premier League season.

A two-way fight for the title
Defending OptaJoe champions, The Athletic, had to settle for third place this year as quiz debutants, Manchester United, and the stats team at Sky Sports battled it out for the top spot following the conclusion of each round.
After eleven rounds of intense questioning, both teams finished level on points, meaning the title had to be settled on a tiebreak.
In the end it was the Sky team who emerged victorious, taking home the prestigious OptaJoe quiz trophy as well as bragging rights for the next 12 months.
