Opta Betting named Sports Data Product at the SBC Awards 2026
SBC recognition caps a landmark year for Stats Perform, built on trusted data, major global rights and a continued commitment to integrity across sports betting.

Stats Perform has won Sports Data Product at the SBC Awards 2026 for Opta Betting, recognising the quality, accuracy and depth of the sports data powering betting markets and experiences around the world.
It’s the latest milestone in what has already been a landmark year for Stats Perform’s betting business.
At the centre of that progress is something fundamental to everything we do: trust.
For sportsbooks, trusted data underpins the entire betting experience. It helps operators create and trade markets confidently, settle bets accurately and quickly, and build new experiences around the moments and players their customers care about most.
Opta Betting provides the detailed player and team performance data that makes those experiences possible, supported by Stats Perform’s technology, expertise and global sports coverage.
A landmark year for trusted sports data
2026 has demonstrated the scale at which that data can perform.
Stats Perform became FIFA’s first-ever official worldwide betting data and betting streaming rights distributor, with its RunningBall and Opta teams delivering official FIFA betting data to licensed operators.
The agreement included the FIFA World Cup 2026™, with official, ultrafast in-venue data supporting modelling, trading, settlement and in-play betting experiences across football’s biggest global tournament.
And the partnership extends well beyond 2026.
Stats Perform will also provide official betting data and, in applicable territories, live betting streams for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™, alongside a wider portfolio of FIFA competitions.
For sportsbooks, that means access to official data, detailed Opta player statistics and live content from some of the biggest events in world sport, all through a partner they can trust.

Trust goes beyond accuracy
Trust in sports betting is not only about whether a data point is correct.
It is also about the integrity of the competitions and markets behind it.
Stats Perform continues to invest in both data integrity and sports integrity, helping rights holders, federations and betting partners identify risk, understand suspicious activity and protect the credibility of sport.
That work has seen Stats Perform retain International Betting Integrity Association accreditation for the sixth consecutive year, reflecting the standards and processes behind the collection and distribution of trusted sports data.
Our integrity capabilities are trusted by some of the world’s leading sporting organisations, and integrity support also forms part of Stats Perform’s partnership with FIFA.
Together, these capabilities help create a more transparent and trusted ecosystem for rights holders, sportsbooks and ultimately bettors.
Bringing the story to SBC Summit
Those themes of trust, richer data and better betting experiences were also central to Stats Perform’s presence at SBC Summit 2026 in Lisbon.
Across the week, the team met with operators to demonstrate how products including Opta Betting, Content Player Pro, Bet LiveStreams and AI Studio can help sportsbooks create richer experiences around the sports, competitions and players their customers care about.
A particular focus was the growing opportunity in women’s football.
Stats Perform’s Director of Women’s Sports Strategy, Louise Beltrame-Bawden, challenged one of the misconceptions that can hold that opportunity back: that women’s sport is predominantly watched by women and therefore growing women’s football betting requires sportsbooks to find an entirely new audience.
The audience is already much broader than that. Sports Innovation Lab’s Sports Five research found that 52% of women’s sports fans are men. The opportunity for sportsbooks is therefore not simply about attracting a new demographic, but about giving sports fans already on their platforms another reason to engage.
That means turning someone who already bets on football into someone who also understands, follows and wants to bet on women’s football.
There is also evidence of what can help unlock that opportunity. Research conducted by Stats Perform and Women’s Sports Group through YouGov identified a 34% knowledge gap around women’s sport, highlighting the importance of giving bettors more information and context. The research found demand from bettors of both genders for more information and opportunities to bet on women’s sport.
That is where trusted data, live content and storytelling can make a difference. Giving customers greater context around teams, players, form and performances can build the familiarity and confidence they already have around more established betting competitions.
Crucially, there are now opportunities to do that throughout the year.
Stats Perform’s growing women’s football offering gives sportsbooks access to trusted data, live content and richer insights across domestic leagues, cup competitions and major international tournaments.
That breadth gives operators the opportunity to make women’s football part of their always-on football proposition, using data, content and storytelling to put relevant matches, players and stories in front of sports fans who are already on their platforms.
With the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™ on the horizon, the opportunity is not simply to wait for a major tournament and capture a spike in attention. It is to start building familiarity now, helping existing sports fans discover more teams and players, understand the game more deeply and ultimately become more engaged with women’s football.
The audience is already there. The opportunity is to close the knowledge gap by giving existing sports fans more reasons to understand, follow and engage with women’s football.
