DFS Player Uses STATS’ Fantasy Projections to Win DraftKings Millionaire Maker Contest

December 11, 2017

CHICAGO (December 11, 2017) – Today, STATS, the worldwide leader in sports data and intelligence, announced a valued client won DraftKings Millionaire Maker contest with help from STATS’ award-winning fantasy sports projections.

The client built his winning lineup of NFL players referencing STATS’ proprietary Application Programming Interface (API) projections model and received a $1 million prize from DraftKings, a giant in the daily fantasy sports (DFS) industry. STATS’ API projected one particular game to feature plenty of passing offense, while most other industry experts predicted differently. Using what is known in DFS as a “game stack,” the STATS client played five participants in that contest to propel him toward the cash prize.

STATS is the winner of FantasyPros’ Most Accurate Weekly NFL Projections Award for the past two seasons, and currently holds the No. 1 position for 2017. Last season, STATS’ projections also led to a substantial payout in the Millionaire Maker contest, as a STATS client cashed four separate entries for a total of $107,500 and narrowly missed winning the $1 million.

“We are thrilled our projection model has helped clients experience an enormous amount of success in DFS games,” said Sean Koerner, STATS Director of Predictive Analytics. “What makes weekly projection methodology so sound is how we break down performance data, injuries and news reports to offer the most accurate predictions for our fantasy platforms.”

NFL weekly projections are only a sliver of STATS’ offerings through its API model. The Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) ranked STATS as having the most accurate MLB season-long projections in 2014, and FantasyPros named STATS the most accurate for its season-long projections in 2015 and ’16, beating out thousands of industry insiders around the country in each instance. STATS’ API projections model also includes detailed and constantly updated daily rankings for the NBA and NHL using similar data and analysis used with the NFL and MLB.

“At STATS, we pride ourselves on creating an industry-leading methodology for data analysis that has led to the highest velocity and accuracy of our fantasy projections and data,” said Koerner.
