Independent Testing Reveals How Watch & Bet Experiences Differ Across Leading Sportsbooks

How Watch & Bet Technology Is Used Differs Significantly Across Operators

Five global sportsbooks: bet365 (US), Betano (Brazil), Superbet (Poland), Maxbet (Romania), and Ladbrokes (UK) – all use Stats Perform’s Watch & Bet technology to make in-play betting more entertaining and immersive.

However, when TESTA carried out independent testing, they found widely different implementations of Stats Perform’s technology.

Bettors in some markets enjoyed seamless access to real-time stats, instant highlights or replays, and the ability to find and place bets from inside the live stream, others encountered much more limited functionality.

Understanding how the market and your competitors are using technology can help innovative operators to enhance their product and user experience.

How the Testing was Conducted

To assess the Watch & Bet experience accurately, TESTA deployed local testers in five unique markets – the United States, Brazil, Poland, Romania, and the United Kingdom.

Each tester used a mid-range mobile device on a 4G connection to replicate the conditions of a typical user, providing an objective picture of how each operator’s implementation performed under realistic conditions.

The testing focused on four key areas:

The Findings

four out of the five operators tested allow users to re-watch highlights on demand

Across the five operators tested, Maxbet (Romania) provided the most comprehensive and consistent Watch & Bet experience. Offering all four of the key features, demonstrating exceptional user experience across all areas.

While other operators performed well in certain aspects, such as highlights playback and being able to bet from within the live stream, none delivered the same level of completeness or cohesion.

Unlock The Full Potential of Watch & Bet

The Watch & Bet experience has transformed in recent years – with many options now available for operators to entertain and engage their players that connect them more deeply to the live sport.

Offering limited features can reduce how long users stay on-platform, how often they interact during live events and even whether they choose your sportsbook at all.

The most succesful operators are those who orchestrate every feature together in a unified, frictionless way. Resulting in greater engagement, more frequent in-play activity, and higher customer satisfaction.

Independent testing within this study provides visibility for the global sports betting industry into how technology and features translate into the real-life in-play betting experience, and how small integration choices can have a measurable impact.
