Stats Perform’s Chief Technology Officer to Deliver Keynote at the IEEE Women in Engineering AI Leadership Summit

September 20, 2019

CHICAGO – September 20, 2019 – Stats Perform, the revolutionary leader in sports AI and data, announced that Chief Technology Officer Dr. Helen Sun will deliver keynote remarks at the IEEE Women in Engineering AI Leadership Summit at the Nokia Auditorium in Naperville, Ill. on Friday, September 20.

Dr. Sun will deliver her presentation, “AI in Sports,” to discuss how AI engineers are developing new tools to dissect the game like never before. As the lead of the product, engineering, artificial intelligence and data production teams at Stats Perform, Dr. Sun will share some of the trends and innovations she sees taking over the fan engagement, team performance and betting industries, and how women engineers can have a profound impact on the future of sports.

“Sports is one of the most exciting industries for implementing new AI technologies to track the complex patterns that go on within a game,” Dr. Sun said. “Whether using computer vision to track players directly from broadcast, natural language generation to convert data directly into game recaps, or AI-powered models to develop more accurate predictions of what is going to happen, some of the front-line technologies in our industry are taking place in sports. As a woman technology leader in the sports industry, I see a great need to bring more female engineers into a company like Stats Perform to help lead the next generation of disruptive technology. In my experience, the more diverse the engineering and AI team, the more exciting the innovation. I want to be an advocate for bringing more women into the sports AI world.”

The Women in Engineering Leadership Summit brings together women students, researchers, teachers, engineers and leaders to share their unique point of views on AI through real-life projects and experiences. For more information, visit https://attend.ieee.org/wieails-2019/.
